Foreword

This is a guide of the funding policies of the Dutch co-financing agencies. It presents a considerable amount of general information on the policy and working methods of five Dutch co-financing agencies: Novib, Hivos, ICCO, Plan and Cordaid. It also offers specific information on their partner organisations in the 27 countries in which SNV is active. This web-site, which can also be burnt as a cd rom, seeks to inform SNV advisors, partners and development organisations in the South.

Introduction

The reference guide about the co-financing agencies first of all focuses on the backgrounds of these agencies and giving special attention to the many changes that have been implemented over the last few years. The text of a few of the recent co-financing agencies' policy statements regarding the co-financing agencies, have been included. Subsequently, information on each co-financing agency is given dealing with the following subjects: genesis, mission, place in civil society, activities, financial resources, general policy, thematic and departmental policy, project procedures, organisational structure and contact information. Each co-financing agency is dealt with separately, and information can be found regarding the financed projects in the 27 SNV countries and their business plan and strategy paper.
