The purpose of this guide is to provide the visitor with an overview of all aspects of EU development cooperation. It includes information about the EU's development policy and on the key EU institutions involved. The guide also provides information about the way in which the EU finances its development cooperation. This guide was produced to provide an analysis of the changes proposed in the 2007 EU Lisbon Treaty, especially those relating to the EU's development cooperation and, more in general, to the EU's external actions. It is also intended to promote the debate on the future of Europe and its role in the world.
